I believe myself to be past this fear now, to have seen my value in the grand scheme of things. But I know that for myself and many of my friends the fear of power was a fear that it might change who you are, who you see yourself as. And, that having the power in and of itself would lead to the temptation to misuse the power once it had been achieved. Of course, this is utter nonsensical. If your will and your knowledge of who you are strong enough to gain true personal power, then with it comes wisdom and the desire to use it for the betterment of all.
