What are Spirit Guides?

Spirit Guides are beings that have agreed to act as your Soul’s energetic support team during this physical incarnation. The purpose of this team is to help you navigate toward your life’s purpose by assisting you with accessing your Soul’s memory, clear karma, heal negativity and embrace the choices that empower your mission through having specific learning experiences.

Spirit Guides use our sympathetic nervous system and our conscious and unconscious minds to communicate with us. They are not very removed from being physically incarnated themselves, which makes them better equipped to translate information to us in a way that makes sense for our human experience.

Why Would Another Soul/Being Want to do this?

To learn of course. A Spirit Guide’s Soul evolves during the time that they are assisting you with your physical incarnation. In essence they are working on their own growth without having to incarnate to do it. Instead they are connected to you and when you heal and grow you bring this benefit to them as well. They agree to assist you because your scheduled learnings and healings for this life time complement the un-incarnated schedule set by their Souls.  These co-operations are commonplace Soul activity in-between physical incarnations.  Therefore, Spirit Guides are very invested in helping us grow, heal and climb out of our negativity!

What Can My Spirit Guides Help Me With?

What can’t they help with is a better question?  Spirit Guides make our lives so, so, so much easier because they are able to get to the energetic root of what is causing a particular physical experience.  Everything from bad health and negative relationships to not being able to generate enough income and seeing through our patterns to something better. Our Guides can show us how if we will let them, but we are the ones that must take the action and follow through with their advice.

The reason our Guides can help us so much comes down to the fact that they can see the energetic root cause of our physical experiences, even the ones that are operating below the surface of our conscious awareness. This is the difference between the situations we can easily handle ourselves and the ones we need our Spirit Guides to walk us through.  Most of us don’t know how to work with our unconscious minds to bring these hidden problems to the surface and so one of the biggest function our Guides have is to help us become conscious of the unseen and more energetically aware.

This is in fact, a large part of what Spirit Guides teach us to do and they work with our unconscious minds on our behalf until we learn how to do it ourselves.  They also teach us to look forward and start to see the energies that are coming our way so that we can be ready for what’s ahead.  As we work with them more and more they become that gentle tap on the shoulder that says, look over here, or did you see that?  They help keep us spiritually awake, ensuring that we don’t go unconscious, get stuck and end up having to repeat learnings again and again because we missed the point of having the experience in the first place.

In keeping us awake, they also help us open our energetic eyes and turn on the light of our conscious mind, so that we will stop tripping over in this lifetime all the stuff we’ve left on the floor from our previous lifetimes. This allows us to clean up our space and move more quickly into our divine purpose, which is what we came here to do.

Spirit Guides point us toward shifting things around to better organize our inner world, they help us transmute lessons and ways of being that we can no longer use into things that truly serve us, and assist us in acquiring new skills that will help us move toward the experiences that we want to have most in life.

So, it’s easy to see how Spirit Guides accelerate our learning and help us resolve issues much more quickly than when we try to work them out on our own. By helping us to learn to see the world through the eyes of our spirit, they also lay the groundwork necessary for us to learn to connect to our own Spiritual Center or Soul.

Are Spirit Guides the Only Way to Learn to Work With My Higher Self?

Spirit Guides are one of many paths. Other paths I have used are working with Angels, Fairies, Meditation, the unconscious mind, archetypes and many more. There is the saying that to paraphrase says, all paths lead home. I believe this to be the case with learning to access the Higher Self. It is all about what resonates for you and helps to lead you inward.

Do I Have to Leave My Body to Work With My Guides?

No you do not.  There is no channeling or any kind of stepping out of body involved, you simply share the same energetic vibration and space with your Guides and through that frequency they are able to send messages to you.

Do I Have to be of a Particular Faith to Work With Spirit Guides?

Your Spirit Guides are there trying to help you whether you ever acknowledge them or not, regardless of what faith you practice. Spirit Guides themselves have had many incarnations and as such they come from every conceivable religious background that has existed through time. This all encompassing view of faith causes them not to concern themselves with the structure of human religion aside of knowing your comfort zone and how best to connect with you and provide you with aid.  They will shape their appearance and their guidance in the way that will best help you advance spiritually, usually in the form of the archetypes that you need to grow within yourself and embrace.

What Are Archetypes and Why Would Guides Chose to Work With them?

Archetypes embody human identities that hold deep connections to the critical spiritual energies that have held power over and influenced humans since the beginning of time…these lessons when extracted, embodied and integrated help us to harness this same power and use it to create within the physical plane.

When Spirit Guides work with you through an archetype they are teaching you to embody these new energies and develop the archetypes talent’s and qualities into your own psyche to be called upon as needed.

Are My Guides Always Going to be the Same?

No a Spirit Guide team is dynamic, some of the Guides on your team are permanent and others are on special assignment and so to some degree your team will always be in a state of ebb and flow, changing as you change, in order to best help you to meet the new challenges ahead.

How Long Does it Take to Learn to Work with Spirit Guides?

This question is different for everyone and largely depends on how much you practice and how much negativity around hearing/seeing/feeling your Guides you may be holding.  Many of us have had negative past life learning experiences from this type of activity and as such may have closed off our intuitive channels to the voice of spirit and guides alike without even realizing we have done so.

To give you an idea of a possible time frame I’ll cite the experiences of my clients who have gotten the Spirit Guide Reading (to learn about their Guide team members and then moved onto the Spirit Guide coaching to get to know them and start working with them).  My Spirit Guide Coaching program asked them to commit 7 weeks to getting to know their Guides.  Everyone who has gone through it has been able to communicate with their Guides during and after the program.
